Benedikt and Christian were engineers who ran into a wall everyone in the industry knew but nobody had solved. A device breaks, the manual is nowhere, support is unreachable. What started as a frustration with office equipment quickly revealed something much bigger: the exact same problem existed in medtech, where the stakes were infinitely higher.
No venture capital, no fancy office. Just two founders in Munich building alongside the hospitals and device manufacturers who trusted them early.
The pattern was everywhere. In every industry the same invisible failure: the device moves through the world but its entire history stays behind. sqanit became the answer to that, giving every device a permanent digital twin accessible with a single QR scan.
Built in Munich, proven in the field. Today sqanit is trusted by Stryker, Henry Schein and Ambu across 57 countries and since 2025 the platform has been scaling faster than ever. We still have the same mission we started with. We just have 1.2 million devices to prove it was right.
And because QR codes are at the core of everything we do, the next step was a natural one. We launched dpp.cloud to help manufacturers meet the EU Digital Product Passport regulation, turning compliance into something every device already speaks: a scan.
2017 - The idea
A broken printer. No manual. No support. Christian and Benedikt decide there has to be a better way. sqanit is born.
2020 - First enterprise pilots
The 1,000th QR code is scanned. A major manufacturer pilots sqanit across 40,000+ devices worldwide.
2022 - Scaling across borders
Department isolation and customer logins are introduced for globally distributed teams. By 2023, the 100,000th QR code is scanned
2026 - Global scale
1.2M+ active device QR codes. Deployed across 6 continents. Customers include Stryker, Henry Schein, Ambu, and Asclepion.
2019 - First version live
sqanit v1.0 ships. The first QR-linked device service workflow goes live.
2021 - Enterprise customers
Fortune 500 companies start deploying sqanit. Multi-language support added for international markets.
2024 - AI integration
AI assistant launched: users get instant answers from uploaded device documentation. 500,000th QR code scanned.

1.2M+ devices. Active in 57 countries.
sqanit powers device service from Germany and across Europe, with a strong presence in the US and South America and rapidly growing across the GCC. Every scan adds to a dataset that makes service smarter for every manufacturer on the platform.
Every decision starts at the device level. We build for the moment a nurse, technician, or operator scans a code and needs help - not for the back-office workflow that generates reports about it.
Compliance built in
MDR traceability, GDPR data hosting, GS1 UDI compatibility, Digital Product Passport readiness. These aren't checkbox features. They're part of every sprint.
Clarity over complexity
Our customers operate in regulated, high-stakes environments. We don't add complexity. We remove it.
Smart Insights
sqanit runs in emergency rooms, field service vans, and operating theaters. What we ship works - today, tomorrow, and when the stakes are highest.
We succeed when you do
Our pilots are scoped around measurable KPIs - ticket resolution time, CSAT, dispatch avoidance rate. If the numbers don't move, the conversation isn't over.
